The tractor stars up fine and Idles , but when you increase the throttle it will run for a few secs. then quit , If you add about 3/4 choke it will run better, If you run the screew all the way in it seems to run a little bit better to try and fix the problum I did a valve job have 75 lbs compression on all clyd,s rings must be worn a little, the timing is corect, installed new points and condencer, rotor rotor cap, cleaned the fuel tank and lines, got good fuel flow to the carb rebuilt the carb , Diden know the flot setting so I left it the same it has a soled needle and seat no sings of whair on eather no sticking eather , no holes in the foat New head gasket new manafold gasket, new coil, recheked the timing , after all this no chang ? used soape to try and see if I had a air leek couldent find eney the tractor Idles good jut wont run long if you give it the throttle

To all that helped, I thank you , after soking the carb in 10% nitric acid for 30 minents then put it in a bath of water and backen soda for 10 minents then rinse with warter and blow it out with 110 psi of air , the carb looked brand new, after reasimbling the carb and installing it back on the tractor it came to life and dident skip a beat, this has been an aventure in murfys law once again a happy Farmall cub owner

Sounds like starving for fuel. Check gas line from carb to tank.Sometimes they get restricted.Blow the line out with compressed air back up through the tank. Leave gas cap on! my2cents

Sounds like a classic case of restricted flow of fuel from the tank, have you checked the strainer and line? Is there debris in the tank?

Bender, I have got good fuel all the eay from the tank to the needle and seat, but I agree that it seems to be a fuel restriction , Like farmer brown said it could very well be in a pasage in the carb, the fact that the carb needs to have the choke on kinda indacates some sort of restriction in the carb, will find out tomrrow

Arvil, Sounds like a fuel starvation problem. Maybe need to recheck the carb and re-clean it. Sometimes a very small piece of debris will get into one of the tiny passages and plug it up. I'd let it soak in carb cleaner tub again and then use compressed air to ensure all passages are clean.//FB

Sounds like a leak on the manifold or carb gasket.Try spraying penertrating oil around the areas and see if you notice a diffrence in the way the tractor runs.It should pick up rpms if there is a leak.
