I just bought a McCormick 24 corn picker. If anyone has any info on one I would appreciate you sharing it on this page. Also, if you have a picture I would appreciate that also.

Dad still uses one every year to pick 20-30 acres of corn. Mount ours on a std H. Works good as long as corn is dry and morning glories/wild pickles are non-existant. Husking performance depends entirely on exact breed of corn...one Pioneer good, another bad, same for Doebler's. You'll need special front spindles to mount the nose. Set your rear wheels dish out, all the way out. And set the picker on a wood or concrete floor when done, it'll settle in dirt and you'll be cursing till you get it mounted...they are heavy!!! I'd get you a picture, but I don't have a digital camera. If you're really interested, email me, I took some video two years ago of dad picking. Some footage from the side and from the wagon. We have an old IH steel dump wagon that we use...had to sneak around dad to fix the cylinder hose, but now he uses it every load. Unfortunately, my wife thinks I'm as stubborn as he is.

If this works, here is a picture of a McCormick corn picker I bought a couple of years ago. It is mounted on a Farmall Regular with an F-20 pedistal. It looks to be complete. The Regular is not stuck. I would sell the corn picker alone or both. I'm in west Central WI. The F-20 in the top picture is not for sale.

The first mounted cornpicker we had was a 24 we bought new in 1951. We mounted it on our '50 H and it wasn't too bad an outfit. 24's were pretty basic, not too much capacity or husking capability, but it was neat to drive into the field and go right to pickin'. We used to fight over who got to haul corn and shovel and who froze on the tractor/picker. Had Super MTA with a 2ME picker later on--a real good rig!

Afew years ago we acquired a #24 restored it a mounted it on a restored 1954 Super H. It`s a nice pair. 24 pickers in our area were a joke as they weren`t made for hvy corn like the 2M-2mh series.Very few 24`s survived. Take your time you have something rare. Heard of one selling last fall with a 43 H tractor for $5000. Look at top snapping roll drive box (in oil) best part of the 24 , years later were on corn heads. Good luck.
