The F-14 I have listed for sale in the photo ads section now has a freed up chevy 216 engine. It acually wasn't stuck at all, I just didn't have a good pry bar here at the new place, and screw drivers don't work so good. Went back over to the farm last weekend and brought home grandpas old crow bar and put it to the fly wheel,it moved about a half an inch on the flywheel, so I went ahead and pulled the plugs out and dumped in kero and oil mix and spun it over a few turns. It took a total of 5 minutes to get it to turn and that was including getting out the tools! The thing should run with a carb, fuel pump, starter, gen and gas tank cleaned out. It sure made my day! I wonder if I should raise the price now?

Someone had a picture of a '14 with a 216 Chevy in it in one of the magazines. I think it was Red Power. I believe that tractor originated in Colorado and when the picture was taken, it was in the midwest back in the '50's or '60's. Would be neat if it was the same tractor you had.

That would be neat if it was the same one, but I think this one was always in Indiana. I am sure the 216 was a popular engine to do this with since they were so common back then. Heck they are almost still common!I bet in this little town I live in of 800 people and 1 motor head, there may be as many as 25 of them, one guy alone has 20 216s. I have the one in the tractor and one in my truck and another one back at the farm for parts.

an unstuck engine is always worth more. If it runs fairly well it is even better. Your call.

I guess in a "perfect world" I would go ahead and get the ol gal running again. Getting old engines to spring back to life is more fun to me than 3 ring circus.I know if I had all the parts here I could get it going in about 4-5 hours including time for problems figured in, 2 hours tops with bolt on parts and no problems. But unfortunatly at the moment I need the $$ bad so I can get water to my house. Then again I am getting used to boiling rain water!hehehe!
