Am thinking of adding live hyd. power to a 1944 Farmall M. Would a cam gear from a Super M fit right on the M? I understand the Super M gear is thicker and heavier for this type of use. Thanks for any help.

I would not pull front cover just to change the cam gear for a hydraulic pump. they will last a long time if you keep pressure 1200PSI or less.

Thanks Ace and RPM. Your absolutely right. Why pull the front off until I need to> I'll watch the pressure and if I do need a gear, I'll get the Super M variety. Thanks again. Dick in Vermont

Yes, cam gears all interchange from M/SM/SMTA/400/450 Farmall, IH part number 6760DB, it was originally 6760D, 6760DA, on M, it sheared or failed around the center hub due to extra load when live hydraulic pump was added. The later good ones have solid web, no holes.
