mccormick came about because the EU and us government stepped into the newholland and case merger. both companies had to sell off certain plants and or product lines. case chose to sell their plant in england, a company in italy bought it along with the engineering rights to the tractors that were produced there and the mccormick name. they also ended up with the tranny plant in france. until the end of 2002 the plant will produce basically the same machine painted different (not quite that simple...)--one for case new holland as the case ih models, and the other for themselves. case forage products are no longer hesston either, they are now new holland repainted.

the same is going for the new holland products. the versatile and genesis lines are now owned by buehler (buhler with the 2 dots over the u) from canada.

it's pretty hard to find the info on the case and nh websites, but the mccormick and buhler websites seemed to spill enough beans so that i could fill in the blanks, and i saw those tractors in person here in MN at a dealer in Paynesville...lol the buhler tractors still have "new holland" on the engine castings.

this merger stuff is going to leave a lot of people confused i think, but most of the people that are farming now do it from an office, and only care about money!

Just went to the web site I must say that c-70 does look pretty sharp but the others look just like the case ih mx series.

JD: I didn't realize you are not seeing these tractors, kind of everyday type of occurance. I have seen two displays of 4-6 tractors at equipment shows this past winter. They are present at dealers, I havn't been paying close attention as to who is handleing them. They are however here and I've seen a couple on farms. The color is much lighter than CaseIH tractors. I prefer the CaseIH color, lot closer to 56-66 series tractors. The McCormicks are in my opinion close to Cockshutt orange. Hugh

As of now there are no dealers anywhere close Hugh. Guess Canada must have faster trade with the UK than the US does. There are no dealers listed in the US on the web site at this time though I am sure that will change. Also farm equipment dealers are few and far between in this area, doubt if any are willing to stick thier necks out on a new tractor line as of yet, may take a few years.

It is my understanding that the new McCormicks are being sold thru Vermeer dealers only in the U.S. I asked at the NFMS in Louisville this spring. They are good looking tractors

Just so happens I have a Farmall 504 diesel. What information would you like? They are about 48 pto horsepower. Diesel engine is 188 cu in. and I do not recall the gas engine specs though I do have all that info upstairs plus about anything else you would like to know about this tractor. Let me know by email, will get back to you.
