Picked-up a engine knock about one week ago. The knock is coming fron the front right side of the engine, near the hydraulic pump, this knock comes and goes and seems to be related to the loader being operated or under heavy load. Because the knock comes and goes I think I can rule out a bearing or a rod, all other indications seem fine, oil pressure, engine temp and the tractor does not seem to lose any power or change pitch when the knocking starts. Any Ideas?

I agree with Jim - the cam gear nut has loosened or unscrewed completely off the camshaft, letting the cam gear flop on it's hub. I've run into the same thing twice recently - once on my Super M and again last weekend on a friend's 400. Best to get in there fix ASAP. Running with the cam gear loose for very long will destroy the cam gear ($160), and possibly other mating gears.

If you use Hyd. and noise is gone, I'd bet that the cam shaft gear is loose on the shaft (nut loosened up)
