A guy in my neighborhood has a 450 that is in pretty tough shape. He indicated he may be willing to sell. He said that the tractor was parked due to burned out valves and oil consumption. Safe to assume that we are looking at an overhaul with head work. The tractor may be lightly stuck. I haven't been able to determine that yet. The right side brake is locked up so the tractor won't move right now. The side hoods are missing. It does not have a fast hitch. It does have power steering. I have no idea about the torque and clutch. Pretty safe bet that the torque is out! The tires hold air but would need to be replaced. Is this tractor worth $400.00. That is what I was thinking of offering for it. Thanks for your input. Steve

Thanks everybody. I will probably see the guy in a couple of days and offer him $400 for it. I don't know if he will sell it or not. He said it was his dad's tractor and he hates to see it go. He parked it at a neighbor's place a couple of years ago because he had no place to store it. It has been sitting outside rotting away for the last two years. I think he will sell it because he needs the money. If he chooses not to sell that is fine. I understand. I really think it is not worth much more than $400. As Hugh mentioned the parts get expensive in a hurry. I'll let everyone know what happens. Thanks again. Steve

You are making a very fair offer at $400. It won't quite feel that way when you step up to parts counter. But then I have never seen what I call an overpriced restored 450. Since they were only manufactured two years they will be a lot more rare than an M. It is not the same as the fellow jumping and screaming about the rare H he found. H of course being the second highest production number tractor in history. Yes definately buy the 450. If you don't at least share with the rest of us.

I would buy every 450 that I could get at that price.

Here in Southwest MO $400 would be a fair price.

Steve $400 would be a fair offer for that 450 in that condition.

Depends on the area you are in. Here in the NW, you'd be expected to pay $500 for it.
