My SH has quite a bit of rust in the tank it don't seem to be loose but I'm sure it will be. Anybody out there ever put OSPHO in the tank ( phosphoric acid) I know it can be used under paint was wondering if it would work inside tank?
Thanks Bill

on one of my super H"s I pulled the sediment bowl off the bottom of the tank and pushed a 1/4 piece of copper line into the top of the sediment bowl fitting. the piece I used was about 3/4 in. long , this keeps it from drawing gas right off the bottom of the tank and the rust flakes dont float high enough to plug it up. kind of primative but it was a quick fix about 8 years ago, haven't fixed it right yet.Only downside is dad gets real @$#^%&# mad when it runs out of gas and he can still see gas in the tank. We have a Super H that had the same problem and kept plugging up the carburetor. Installed an inline filter, then the tractor would quit running several times a day due to it being clogged up. We did not try what you are suggesting so I do not know if it will work or not but we took the tank to the local radiator shop, he cleaned it out and coated it, have had NO problems in the last 4 years.
