I have a 45 BN that I am working on at this time.
I will be ready to get the new tires for it next month. I am thinking of using 8.3 X 24" with the older style 45 degree angle bar tread on the rear. I need to know if I should go with 4:00 X 15" or 5:00 X 15" triple rib on the front. The front tires on it at this time are regular tread 15" car tires. I don't know if the difference in heigth or width of these two sizes would make any big difference or not, but I would like for it to sit properly and have it look right when I do get it finished.

Thanks

B. Quinn

you need to check on what size rear rims are i have some of the old fashion 45 on 7in rime look great there were three sizes of rims avail the 9.5 looks good on the 8in rim you wouldnt want the 8.5s on a 8in rim the overall hieght of the two sizes are very close i still prefer the 8.5 on the 7in rim have both with new and older tires B.F. GOODRICH has a nice 45bar tread in 9.5 i have the FIRESTONE 8.5s seen B SELL OTHER DAY WITH 11.5 LOOKED TERIBLE still brought 2100 without lites needed grille attention

4" on the front and 9.5" on the rear will be fine.

Hey Red Raider, that's a nice looking B.
Is that a '39 or '40? I see that you have the same hood fasteners and bare pan seat that I have on my '40.

She's an ol' girl, early 1940 according to the castings and serial number. So old, she has the kill pull cable with the "S" switch knob. This was replaced by IHC with the mag grounding switch because of safety concerns. The dutz fasteners (or something like that) work very well. I don't know why they went to the spring j-hook.

I don't remember what the original size is, but with 8.3's on the back, I think the 4.00's on the front would look OK.
A lot of BN's have 9.5X24's and some have 11X24's on the back.
