Thanks a million, Bob! As you can probably guess, this is one of the tasks in my future. My SH came with a factory loader that I assume was there most if not all it's life. When I took it off and starting putting 3 pnt loads on the back I found how much slop is up there.

This is what I'm going to have to do to the old "M" I'm afraid, thanks. My 2 cents

Nice photos, Bob. I wish I would take my time, wash my hands, and pick up the camera more often when I'm working on the old machines. Sometimes I even resort to staging pictures of things I wished I had gotten to share. I've got to confess that that's the case of some I shared a couple weeks ago of popping the sector gear loose from the pivot shaft when I did the steering on my H. I was so proud of my cleverness that when I went back in to replace the bad thrust bearing and cap I had found on the end of the steering shaft I set up the apparatus again and took a couple of pictures.

Thanks William - I've done that (staged a photo AFTER taking something apart) a few times myself. I find pix these pix are an excellent reference when trying to recall a few hours later (or days, or weeks!) exactly how something goes back together. My cheap digital camera - also a fresh roll of paper towels to handle the camera with - occupy a corner of my toolbox at all times when I mess with the tractors now.
