The first red was for before 1950 (IH 50 paint code) and (2150 IH paint code) after 1950. Just what I know about paint I would not use Van Sickle it looks like ----.

Can only offer opinions and experience with this. I have painted a few IH tractors using PPG paint. There are 2 shades of IH red in their books. One is darker and one is really bright. See pics for the bright shade. That is our 544 Farmall. Dad wants his 1086 painted with the darker shade as that is how it came when he bought it in 1979 with 300 hours on it.

Now, now, that is my winter front cover so that the engine can come up to temp faster and run a little warmer! If I cleaned it out it would be full again the first time I feed another bale.

OK, that is a nice looking tractor. I know that is very handy for chores.

IH original red from the beginning in farm equipment was the same shade of red, they have not changed it on the newest equipment only added gloss to make it shine better.

I'm not sure about the color difference but can tell you from experience that Van Sickel will fade after the first year, better off to buy a good quality paint unless you don't want it to last.
