Service, Ford, Mohawk, or even, a Bush Hog, are these not trade names, not an implement, I have a thing that hooks to the drawbar of my tractor, and to the pto. shaft, and is 12" wide, has 3 blades under it, I bought it for a shredder, the name brand is Roto-cycle, Or is this a Bush Hog, Just curious. Bush Hog, is the name of a manfacture that builds farm equipment. One of their first pieces of equipment that was very popular was a rotary mower. The name Brush Hog became the name the public used when talking about this mower, because mowing brush was what it was most often used on. They make loaders, disc's, plows, etc.

A "Bush Hog" or "brush hog" is generally a rotary mower with swinging blades that will bounce off a solid object. They may perform the job of a shredder but are really a mower with the blades erected by centrifugal force.

Finish mowers, one, two or three blades on a fixed deck do not have swinging blades but may look like a bush hog.

Bush hogs generally have separate decks for each blade set such as the large three-piece folding rotary mowers most highway departments use.

If I went to the local JD.dealer or IH, dealer, they have Rhino, and JD, both with swinging blades, and fold up, and I told them I wanted a Bush Hog, they would tell me to go to the BushHog dealer down the road, at the MF. dealer, my 2 cents. may be worth 1 but I got 2 in, gota go chat later
