I would like to know what 2 used tires 13.6-38 and good tubes would be worth, Tread wear is 50 to 60%. No breaks or bad cracks. Thanks . Buck

I bought a pair, used, back in December for $300 for the pair. One was darn near perfect, with only a few hours on it. The other has a few cracks, but is a whole lot better than the one that is on there now.

Now, I gotta get around to mounting them. Any hints out there for mounting them big tires.

Daniel,
I would suggest you try to change them on the tractor unless you have someone fairly strong to help. I have reversed the wheel on one side of my M by myself a couple of times so it fits on my trailer and I can tell you from experience that it can get pretty scary. My guess is that a complete rim hub and tire assembly for my M weighs several hundred pounds.

I just had one rear tire repaired at the local shop (well worth the $21.50 charge) and they had a special bead breaker that made short work of getting the tire off the rim to remove and patch the tube. I just trailered the tractor to town (about 15 miles) and they did all the hard work. That makes a big difference when you're 54 years old and only 5'6" and not in the best of shape any more. :o)

Phil

You need couple of the old spoon type bars and couple different hammers..(4 pounder and a big rubber or rawhide) Most guys like changing them on the tractor which is OK but I like them flat on the floor...really once you break the bead from the rim it's very easy...the tire almost comes off by it self...the only hard part is to be careful when putting on new tire not to pinch tube and pinch tube during re-airing of tire... Good Luck
