Started painting a few parts last night with rattle cans of CIH 2150 paint. Color doesn't look right. Seems a little too orange. What has been some of your experiences with 2150? Pictures? Thanks for your input.

What is PPG paint? I just finished painting and installing several parts on my Super M painted with CIH 2150 spray paint. They look great, and the only reason I used the paint is because my neighbor painted his 1066 with it and looks great, so I figured it couldn't be that bad. If PPG paint is really that much better for the money, I am considering following your advice and painting the rest of the tractor in PPG rather than 2150. Bottom line, I need something that I can put on without any fancy painters (or the facilities to paint in) and easy on my usually empty billfold.

I second the motion on PPG paint. Just got my F30 painted with PPG urethene (xcept for engine) and it looks great. Better than factory. This is the only paint I would consider on restorations. Superior to anything else out there. My .02

I don't waste my time prepping a tractor unless I'm using PPG paint. Why spend countless hours sanding and cleaning and then use cheap paint that turns pink in 2 years?

On the other hand when some other sucker is paying me to do the work they can use whatever paint they want, but I still recommend PPG acrylic urethane with hardner. See truck, painted 6 years ago and has NEVER been in a garage since - by the way, red is the most prone to fading in the sun.
