Hi. I need help determining how much and what kind of weights to put on the front end of my super A. What is estimated cost?

I mow a yard on a hilly area with a rear mower(attached to 3 point hitch). The incline is 20-30 degrees and the front end feels light going up the hill with the mower.

If you are in the NW, I have a pair I can sell you for $50. They get too heavy to ship and eat up alot of cost.

Dave:
Thanks kindly. I appreciate the offer, if I was closer to your location I would go for it today. But I believe you can do better on Ebay. Please ck this link:

It has a current bid of over $80.00 for Super A front weights and that does not include shipping.

You can add weights to the front wheels as Glenn says. There have been a couple of sets on E-bay recently. Bids were in the $80-100 range for a set when I looked. These weights seem to be in demand, and thus the price is fairly high. You can also take the front tires and rims to a tire dealer that does farm tractors and have solution put in the tires to add weight. Be aware the more weight you put on the front the harder she is going to steer. If I were you, I'd consider converting to a belly mower. Might be safer. You have some steep ground there.

Thank you Glenn and Haas for the information. I will put a 100 lb bag if portland cement on the front end to see how hard it steers. If it's not too difficult I will search for used weights that I can pick up personally to avoid shipping. I am in the Nashville TN area.

IH made front wheel weights for the Super A that are about 42# each. I believe they are the same as the ones used on C/Super C, H/Super H, and M/Super M. I have been told that the going rate is fifty cents per pound, but the very few I've found are priced at $50 each. I've seen as many as two per wheel, adding 168# to the front axle.
