I've got a Schwartz wide front off an H I would like to stick on a 460. First, will it bolt up under there and second are the hubs going to fit? Don't want to haul the Schwartz 1200 miles unless I know it will fit.

The spacing for the H and 460 frame rails are the same. As Hugh MacKay said you can match up just about any combination of spindle size to race diameter.

It will probably bolt on ok, hub & bearings will be a problem, if threads on spindle are coarse threads, then its most likely H, bearings alone will not adapt it to 460 spindle bearings, 460 has 3/4 fine threads. The hub spacing for bearing seats are different, would require new spindles to get it to match up correctly. New spindles are $150.

You don't shop at the right bearing shop, that is a bunch of hogwash.

Cant understand what is hog wash, this was taken from 2 different parts books, the seats for the bearing inner cones and the outer races are different demensions. H has a cast front wheel, 460 has a 6 bolt std rim mounted to a separate hub, its like trying to adapt a Ford fender to a Mercury.

We have bearing suppliers here in Canada that advertize, "If you bring in your axel shaft and wheel hub, we will match it with bearings, inner cones and seals, providing the hub is large enough and axel shaft is within an inch in length." If that not be the case they can provide a hub to match wheel.

I know a guy who put 656 wheels on a 300, both IH front ends. I priced out 8 stud hubs and bearings for my trailer that is currently 5 stud. I wanted to be able to use same wheels on trailer as 3/4 ton truck These guys can match just about any thing close. No it is not IH or Schwartz stock and probably doesn't have the quality. As Wes said in an earlier post he was only going to tinker with, play with and show it off a bit. Then again these bearings could be comming from same source as CaseIH.

The Schwartz wide front from H will bolt right up to your 460, you may have to slightly modify the stabilizer that bolts back on frame rails. It may be a bit different width. As for the hubs you could be into a different spindle size. That would require different bearings. Just check with a store that specializes in bearings. Those lads can match it up.

Thank you boys for your comments. Think I'll load it up and take it back there in a couple of weeks and fit it on her. Getting tired of tripping over the thing and it needs a good coat of red to cover up the (ugh!) orange.
