PULL or PUSH starter rods???????????

I have several A's, B's & C's and about half of them have PUSH rods on the starters and the other half have PULL rods.

The PULL rods are all the same but the PUSH rods all seem to be different. My first thought was that new starter switches were put on backwards, but the switches will not operate when they are installed reversed.

Am I wrong??? I thought that all A's, B's, and C's had PULL rods on the starters. Were some built with PUSH rods??? What is the correct starter witch, PUSH or PULL???

all As and Bs are push unless someone put the wrong starter on Cs are all pull unless someone put a starter from an A OR B on some even rebuild one and replace the fields and then put a threaded post on instead of the copper button then they put a solenoid to top it off worked on an A the other day that they hooked up the exhaust lift lever to enguage the starter
