I have my original oil pressure gauge off my farmall h and it is very good condition, but usually the gauge will stay up after the motor is shut off, and sometimes it doesn't. The tractor has not been run in many years and someone told me that the gauge is just a little sticky and will eventually wear in. Do you guys think this true or is my gauge junk. I would like to keep it if possible because it is orginal. thanks!

bob, i'd take the pipe loose and squirt in some wd-40 to help free up the crud. see if that don't help. mabe crank the motor over some with the pipe removed to flush that out too.

Bob, I would get an oil pressure guage and hook it up to make sure there is adequate oil pressure, then you can decide on keeping your guage or not. There are reproduction guages on the market for less than $20 that will fit your H like a glove. I have two H's and I put a new guage on one of them( $15). The other H has a gauge that works fine but the face of the guage is all discoloured and I am pleased enough with the reproduction guage that I am going to replace it as well. My local Case-I-H dealer can still get original H guages, just a little costlier. Good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
