Can anyone tell me how to determine if my electrical is 6 volt or 12 volt. I can not read the tag on the starter, and there are no tags on the distributor or the coil. Thanks. The tractor is a Farmall "C" but I do not know if the electrical is original.

Look under the regulator, they usually are labeled whether 6 or 12 volt.

Does it have a battery? 3 fillercaps = 6 volt, 6 filler caps = 12 volts. Most 12 volt conversions use an alternator, if it has a generator it is probably 6 volt, although generators can be rewired to 12 volt. the C came from the factory as 6 volt.

CNKS, Thanks for the information, but has no battery. Any other ideas? Thanks again.

Does it have a generator or altenator. If it does not have a generator then it is 12 volt.
