The tires on my H are leaking calcium around the valve stem. Is there any way to stop the leaking without taking the tire off the rim? Thanks!

bob, i don't know how good you are at changing tire but i'd put new tubes in myself. 38 inch drop center rims are not hard to work on and the tire will almost change itself once you get the bead broke. don't tell epa but just run the calcium out on the ground. (not on your wife's lawn)

Is it leaking from the stem itself or from the valve? Many times it will rot out the core which can be replaced. If it was leaking internally I'd go with the other guys.

You best take the tires and rims(or the tractor)to a dealer that works on farm tires. Wonder what the tire condition is. May not be worth trying to fix, it which case you may be looking at the expense of new tires. The tire will have to be dismounted and the tube patched at the least. More likely you will need a new tube and repairs to the rims. While the tires are off, you need to clean up the rims and paint the inside. Sorry, wish I had better news.

Yep, & while you have the fluid out putting in a new tube, fixing the tire & patching the rim, have the tire dealer get rid of it. IMHO, that junk (fluid) was invented by a rim manufacturer just so he could sell more rims. (You might be able to tell from this post that I am NOT a fluid fan. WAAAAA AY too many bad experiences w/it.) If you want more weight, thats why cast iron & concrete wheel weights are made. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

If that's the case.... the idea didn't work! None of the wheel companies that made rims/wheels back in the 60's & 70's are still around! All were bought up by TITAN...

Although calcium is corrosive, it is far superior for traction when compared to wheel weights. It weighs a lot more, and a lot more of it can be added than pure wheel weights. For that reason, you can get a lot more grunt out of a tractor with calcium in it, even though you might have to put up with a few negative side-effects.
