I have a 560, and the PTO started slipping, I have the older one, with the button on the back of the handle, with the 2 adj, screws under the cover, what way do you adj. the bolts in or out, to keep it from slipping, it does ok, until it gets in heavy grass. Thanks

I had this type of pto on 300 years ago, my 560 had the newer type. I always found once they sliped it was too late to do much adjusting unless you do as joe says which I agree is not very safe. You probably need a rebuild. The newer type on 560 was not much better. IH really didn't get the live pto right until the 06 and 56 series tractors.

you need to turn the front (one towards the front of the tractor) screw IN, I would go about a half turn at a time, those PTO units are extremely tempermental as far as getting them adjusted right. On ours, in order to keep them from slipping in heavy going, I have to turn the screws so tight that the PTO won't ever turn off - which is a bit of a safety hazard at times. Best of luck with yours!
