I have been having trouble with the carb on my farmall h. When you turn the gas on, after a moment gas starts running out the overflow on the carb. Also after tractor starts you have to hold the choke about half way on for it to keep running for a minute or so then it will run but kind of rough. Also when at idle smoke comes out the exhaust and when you accelerate from idle it smokes for a few seconds then quits while running at higher rpm. I tried adjusting the screws on the carb and the only one that seems to make a difference is the idle limiter screw. This is a newly rebuilt motor and carb. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be wrong with my carb? Sorry for the long post! Thanks! Bob

the gas coming from the overflow tells me that your float is set wrong and is allowing the gas to come out or...the float you have has a hole in it. that will also allow your tractor to flood itself out and die like that. mine was the same way and i took it apart and it worked fine after that. also look in your manual and set the carb up with the screw setings in there. with the smoke coming out you may be fouling the plugs too. try resetting your float and/or put it in a pot of water and see if it sinks or swims. keep us posted!!!
