I paid 1100 for a 460D here in Texas. Paid a little much for it I think but was the first tractor I have bought. Here is what I got. 1 it ran but had alot of blow by (ring and sleeves $400 $500)

2 ta didn't work (cluth and rollers $100)
3 didn't shift into 5th (4th 5th gear $125) 4 some missing tin (white tin by motor& battery tin) the rest was there and straight ($100-$150)
5 ring and pinion shot( $325)
6 seat cushion gone ($250)
7 temp gauge bad ($65)
8 head work which included new valves, pressure check, and milled it flat. ($600)
9 crank grind ($100)
10 bearing and gasket set ($200 $300 i think)
11 paint (ppg $400 $500)
12 had good tires on rear and fair on front

There were many other odd and ends that I needed and total cost is over 4000. It was worth it to me because it is something I enjoy doing(most of the time anyway). I always wanted a diesel and I can now go pulling with my dad and brothers. You have to decide what you what it for to make money and sell it or restoring it for fun or farming. Don't think you could make any money as you can see by all my costs. Anyway I don't think I would pay more than $800-$900 but I have only bought one tractor. It also depends where you live.

my 2 cents

It's probably worth more parted out than complete, but I would say $800-$1200 would be fair. Depends on rim/tire condition, narrow or wide front, drawbar or fast hitch, etc.
