Have a farmall h that run the last time we pulled it to mow a couple of years ago.Long time ago when mil lived here a man stopped by said the seat was worth something,didnt make them like that for long or something. Is it worth the trouble too try to sell? live in sw ne.

If the fella said that they didn't make the seat like that for long I would bet it is a 1939 model or early 1940. If so it should have a low serial number.

Prices on Hs can vary from a barely running one at $500 to a nicely restored one for $3,500. See if you can find a serial number. There should be a plate under the oil bath air cleaner on the clutch housing. Also the engine serial number will be stamped on a flat surface above the #1 spark plug. That is the one closest to the radiator.

It would be a tremendous help if you could post a picture.

Red, isn't that engine number just below the #1 plug on the block rather than the head????
