Can someone tell me the proper float level for a gasoline farmall h? Also where should I measure the level from? the front or the back of the float? Should I measure the gap with gasket on or off? Should I use a drill bit to get the proper gap? Thanks Bob

Hold the carb body so the float hangs at its lowest position. Measure from rim of body (no gasket) to lowest point on float. Use a vernier scale if you have it, a good ruler otherwise. Should be 1 inch and 27/32, plus or minus 3/64. Hope this helps.

1 13/32

I measure from the top of the bowl casting to the bottom of the float. I have a picture in my manual that illustrates measuring it from the front of the float and it also illustrates the gasket being on. I dont understand the drill bit procedure, but maybe someone else can be of better assistance. I only know enough to be dangerous??

Correction 1 53/64, sorry I looked at the wrong column in my manual. 1 13/32 is a cub.

Don,When you say 1 53/64 does the 1 mean 1cm or 1mm? I am sorry, I am new to carb rebuilding. Thanks Bob

Yes, that is in inches. I wish I had a scanner. I would send you a chart with a diagram I have from a Farmall letter series manual on tune ups.
