Just wondering what you guys thought of the prices of the trators in the ads on this web site. I have been watching the Photo ads for over an year now and I find everything well priced to over priced. Am I out of touch with my thinking? Do alot of these tractors advertized get sold? I'm Canadian and when you convert the dollar its crazy. Maybe I should be selling my farmalls instead of trying to buy more! Just wanted to know what people think.

It is hard to say, but I don't believe a lot of them get sold for asking price. I recently attended an auction in Canada but quite near US border, US buyers were there. The 20 or so tractors did not sell for for excessive prices. A few of them were restored, in my opinion restorers were quite poorly paid for their time.

I also have watched these ads for a while now. I think alot on price depends where you live and the time of year. Seems the sellers ask more spring/early summer and prices seem higher on the east coast. Most of what is for sale I cannot afford. But I have found several that I could, they were just 600 miles away so after paying some one to haul, the price was out of my reach.

Well I have bought 2 tractors off this site...I don't think that I got a bargen on either one....but I did OK ,I got what I wanted.....Better to buy local if you can,but every thing I looked at was junk.....I bought a FARMALL M and a ALLIS CHALMERS G .....I got what I paid for .....I look for better than average tractors.....I think they have been, better cared for I don't want to go into the trans or rear end....I also like straight sheet metal..... a good sign the tractor had reasonable care..... .If you don't have to buy rear tires, finders ,lights or sheet metal, you can afford to pay more....I look at the pictures and add up the extras that I see that I would have to buy for a cheaper tractor...the extras like finders and other things can add up to big bucks,a tractor that has these things seem to indicate it had a caring ouner.....my 2 cents
