My w-4 was converted to 12volts using a 10si
delco remy alternator. This alternator is suppose
to fit under the hood but dosent. How do I change the bracket to fit this properly to fasten the hood. Is there a 12v generator which would fir correctly< What is the generator #?

We put a lot of 10si alternators on H's (your W4 is the same) all we do is turn the generator bracket over and drill the holes out to 3/8. If the alternator still wont fit under the hood we heat the bracket up and bending it up till the hood will clear. Most of the time I don't need to bend the bracket. Another plus to mounting the alternator like this is you can use the original belt

I am assuming you wish to stay 12 volt with W4. What you need is the alternator off a Toyota or Honda, will work the same and just enough smaller it will fit in there and give you room to adjust. In fact I am sure alternator on my V6 front wheel drive Buick LeSabre is smaller than other older GM delcos.
