Some older tractor men have written to tell me these units were made for the military and used on the landing beaches by the Sea Bees. Any thoughts on this theory. I've had 3 or 4 email about it. Thanks...George (redrev)

No idea. There's literally hundreds of different configurations of industrial tractors out there, and a bunch were done by the military. If this is one, the additional equipment could have been applied at IH, or by the military. Still, if its military there should be data plates. You might want to contact the Naval History Center in D.C. to try to follow up.

Thank you Mr. Fay. I appreciate your response! I did find another trojan plow in an upstate museum, but it didn't have a cab. It was a neat package though. No where near as heavy as the I-6 one. G

If anything, they might be snow plow tractors- there were quite a few of them in that area. Municipalities bought them to clear sidewalks, etc. There was a Red Power article about them some time ago.
