I am new to this board. I have owned my Cub a while but done little work on it. The oil was dripping from the cover on the bottom of left bull gear (?) by the rear wheel. I pulled the cover, got about a quart of black oil. I am ready to put it back together and started looking for the place to put new oil in or the full level plug. I can't find either. My question is how do I put this oil in, what type of oil should I use (gear lube SAE 140?), and how do I know when it is full?? Can someone help me?

Assuming you have a regular Cub, remove the drawbar and the side plates for the drawbar. There is a plug with a square recess behind the left side plate- probably a 1/2" square that will accept a socket extension. That plug is both the fill and level check plug. Fill until it is full to the plug. The 85-140 lube will work well.
