IH Dealer Who Sells By Mail Order???

I need a number of seals, gaskets and other small parts for my IH 300U. The Case/IH dealer closest to me is about 100 miles away. Rather than travel to his parts counter to see if what I need is available, I e-mailed a list of part numbers and asked for a quote if available.

That was more than a week ago. Even following up by phone has produced no response. I'm getting the feeling this may be too "small potatoes" for this dealer.

But since I'm trying to deal mail order, I wonder if there is ANY IH dealer out there who is known to be happy to sell mail order? East of the Mississippi probably makes sense (I'm in West Virginia), but UPS will bring my parts from anywhere.

Does anyone know of an IH dealer who is good at dealing by phone/e-mail/mail order on small parts for an old tractor???

Thanks much.

Bob Kirk

Bob, like the others said, call Ken Updike at Carter & Gruenewald. He'll sell you any parts you need through the mail. Call 608-455-2411 and ask for him. He is a first class guy, and he'll treat your right!

Hoober Inc. will take care of you. They have stores in Intercourse, Pa., & 2 in Delaware. Try the main store @ 800-732-0017. Ask for Dick Bomberger-head parts dept.

Bob, I just ordered some seals and such from Carter Grunewald this morning ( very knowledgable about old tractors). The local Case IH dealer here in Waxahachie TX is only about a mile away but dealing with them is a butt whip. I dont think they even know what a Farmall is.

I agree about C&G.

BTW, I used to live on Maree Dr off of FM387 just on the north side of Waxahachie. My daughter was born in Waxahachie in '93!

Bob, I deal with Tipton International. They have two stores, one in Hillsboro and one in Waco. I deal with the Waco guys (and they are good) as they are closer and they get one day service out of Dallas. I call them on Monday and I have the parts on Wednesday thru UPS. Apparently there is a gigantic IH warehouse in Dallas and I have never had a problem with any part still available for my H or super C. The Waxahachie dealer should know that.

You may have a lousy dealer, but if they are like most (or at least mine), if you have the part number, they should be able to enter it into their computer and get it from their nearest distribution center. My dealer has next day service. My money for my 50 year old tractors is as good to him as a farmer's with a $100,000 tractor, I just don't spend as much. Parts manuals are essential. If you have one and still can't get parts, forget what I said, your dealer is lousy.
