I took the carb apart on my M while I was waiting for the radiator to rebuild. I have everything back together, but need to adjust the carb. I know which is the idle adjustment, but which one is the idle mixture. And what is the other one.

Thanks,
Bob G

THE RED told you what the screws were....I'll tell you how to adjust them.....Close the idle adjusting screw (not the idle speed screw)gently into it's seat,by turning it to the right...back out one complete turn....Start the engine....Turn the idle speed screw in till you have a rather high idle speed...push your throttle lever all the way down.....When the engine is warmed up to operating temp. and at fast idle. turn the idle adjusting screw in slowly ,until the engine starts to slow and run rough...back it out until it starts to slow and run rough..... now run it in until it runs the fastest and the smoothest.....Adjust the idle speed where you like it...(on tractors with magneto, engine idle must be set faster than battery ign.).....To adjust the high speed mixture screw, pull the hand throttle all the way back,(wide open)adjust this screw the same way as you did the idele mixture screw (fastest and the smoothest)...You may have to turn these screws a 1/4 turn later to get it just right.....TEST--- with throttle at about3/4 open lock the breakes togeather, put tractor in fourth gear....hold breaks down and slip the clutch, putting, a load on the engine, check to see if engne pulls smooth under a load.....You need to get a OPERATOR'S MANUAL.....

Bob the upper screw that points directly to the carburetor where the governor shaft connects is the idle speed screw. The other upper screw is the idle mixture screw. Bottom screw is the high speed mixture screw.
