Charlie, Thanks for getting back to me, and thanks to everyone else who responded. I should have clarified that it is a distrubtor ignition system on the particular H. Charlie, the choke makes no difference, I played around with it to see if that was a problem, but there was nothing. The only thing that I did not consider was the possibility for a ballast resistor. I did change the tractor to 12 volt and I purchased a new 12 volt coil, as the old 6 volt gave up the ghost. So I went a purchased one from my local CaseIH dealer. I asked on three seperate occasions whether or not I required a ballast resistor for this particular coil and they said no. So, I went with that. However, maybe I should get one. Perhaps I should get one to see if that will make the difference. As far a startin goes, the thing sparks right up, so I know the points are in good shape. The plugs and wires are all new, in fact I even exchanged the new plug wires with the ones on the 130 and there was no difference in performance. I watch the valves, and they all seem to opening and closing the way they should. However, I will look into all of these matters and hopefully I can figure out the problem. Thanks again, Ben
