I have removed the pulley flange and attached gear from the gear box on a Super M to replace the seal. Am at a loss how to get to the seal. All I see is big bearings and a gear that doesn`t want to come apart. Are special tools needed? I am planning on putting this on my 450 and looks as if I`ll have to loosen the gas tank. As usual thanks in advance to all who would to comment.

To get to that seal, the gear and bearings must be reomved. To do that, you will need a bearing press. Best to take the assembly to a shop that has one to press the bearings off the shaft and then back on again. That is what I did.
