I have a problem,I bought a super h,and a super m from a friend of mine, the m is a 53,and the h is a 53,the m is completly restored(tractor was taken completly apart and rebuilt or replaced,on a scale of 1 to 10,the super m is a 10),the h was being used ,and the paint is faded, but on a scale of 1 to 10,the super h is a 8,I was wondering if you had to choose which one would you choose,I bought both as a package deal, and thought I might sell one, nether tractor will be used for work,so if you had a choice of a super m or a super h which would it be,any input would be very helpful, thank you.

I have a 53 Super H and a 54 Super M and I wouldn't want to have to make a decision like you mention. Can you safely move the big one? Guess if I had t decide, if I absolutely could only keep one, I'd keep the Super M.
Can you keep them both? Is it abso;utley necessary to get rid of one?

In case you don't know, the stage 2 of both models had live hydraulics and the battery under the seat. Stage 1 had the battery under the gas tank and the "lift all" non-live hydraulics. Aftermarket live hydraulics could be added to both, in case yours has the hyd pump behind the distributer and the battery under the gas tank. If they are both stage 1 or both stage 2 there is not much difference in the value of the tractors if they were in the same condition. However, they only made about 7000 stage 2 Super H's -- that tractor would be my preference.

I'd keep the H if is had live hydraulics, stage 2. Lighter and fewer built. Repaint sheet metal if ya want a better looking one. G.

Brad,

In my humble opinion, go with the bigger tractor...Nothing like the ol Tim Allen approach with "MORE POWER" The Super M could eat the lunch of just about all tractors of it's time...But, there are some other things you should consider, will you have the capacity to trailer the Super M 6000 pounds vs 4500 with the Super H. Do you have somewhere to store the larger tractor? It will use a little more fuel...things like that...I would definately go with the Super M...

My $.02

Good luck with either,

Jared Jeffries
