Picked up a Cub recently and can't find the serial no. Any tips on how to find the date this tractor was built and where the sreial no should be?

Sorry it took so long to get back here but thanks for the tips on where to look. The serial number plate is missing but it apears to be 1c1352 just barely noticeable behind where the plata used to be. The block casting is 1*18*W and 10*21*R is on the trans housing.Any more info would be appreciated bruce

The serial number should be on a plate mounted to the left of where the steering shaft goes into the steering gearbox. I've seen many of them painted over when tractors were repainted.

If the serial number plate is gone, look for date codes on the major castings(engine, transmission). They look like this:

12*5*B

where the star(*) represents something that looks like the head of a screw. Post your findings and we'll help you figure it out.

look on the right side of the tractor, on the front bolster, near where the steering shaft goes into the steering gear box.
