I have recently purchased a Farmall 350 to do help with the work around my 20 acre hobby farm. I've been looking for a snowblower to remove the snow from my 500ft driveway in the winter. The 350 does have a loader, live power, and the fast hitch and I have located several sources to change it to the 3pt.

What size and type of snowblower would you recomend?

Are there any other modifications/additions to the tractor I can perform to make my job easier?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

My neighbor has a snow blower on his 300, it probably is a six footer. He converted it from a 3 point rear mount to a loader mounted up front affair. Really a great set up. (Most of us do better going forward than reverse!) He designed and built an under-the-axle PTO driven drive shaft that reverses direction of rotation. This guy thinks of everything. He also built an all weather cab with metal engine side curtains to gather heat. I think he prays for big snows now. Maybe I could take some pictures of his improvements. Dick

I have a 5' that I rear mount on my 300. I have a 3pt. It is a little too narrow to get the whole tractor behind so I have to work my way in to bigger drifts. Just the same, it is a load for this tractor - I don't know but I assume that a 350 has approximately the same hp. I would think a 6' would work it pretty hard. Good luck.

Hey,

That sounds like fun. If you're over there some time take a couple pictures and throw them my way.

If you already have Fast Hitch conversion to 3pt is simple. Buy the conversion arms that slip right into the existing fast hitch openings, and add a bracket for the upper arm and you are in business. It allows you to use fast hitch when you want and 3pt when you need it with less than a minute conversion time. As to the snowblower, your best bet is to check with your local dealers and compare for yourself. Unless you live where you get a lot of snow maybe your loader with a blade on it instead of a bucket could do the job for you. I have a wide bucket on mine that is for snow.
