IMHO, removing the radiator on an H is the biggest PIA that there is in the entire restoration process. Those bolts @ bottom of the radiator are difficult to get at & are usually really rusty. If they don't take out the bottom radiator tank before they loosen, you're really lucky. They also had a cotter pins in them from the factory that have given me fits to get out. First you need to take the hood and grille off. Then in the front top of the upper bolster there is a plug on the left side that you need to take out. Remove the bolt at the U-joint in the steering shaft just behind the engine and turn the shaft and it should come out the front of the steering gearbox where you removed the plug.

After you get the steering shaft out of the way, there are 2 studs that hold the radiator on the bottom. A ratcheting box end wrench works best, but it can be done with a regular wrench and patience. Spray some of your favorite penetrating oil on them and leave them overnight - many people twist the studs off.

Click the link to go to BobM's pics of rebuilding the steering on his Super H. The upper bolster is the cast piece with the upside down Y shape. Hope this helps!

Steven
