On some of the M's I have pulled the heads off there has been a head bolt heater between the valve cover and the manifold.

The only thing I can think of that bolts to the head between the manifold and valve cover is the peice for the throttle that has the linkages on it.

I have a 1944 M and the only thing bolted between the carb & Valve cover is the intake/exhaust manifold. Can you be more specific, it interests me?
