What does it take to put live hydraulics on an H or M? Does it matter if they are a super or not? Are the parts hard to come by? Did these supers ever come with live hyd?

How about live PTO?

Sounds like I really need a 300 or 400 huh?

Basically I want a tractor just like my C with about 50 horse, more weight, and a driveline that can take it.

Thanks,
Brian Schmidt

My SM has live hydraulics, and I added a set of valves for the two-way and float controls. Not real hard to do. Power Dome pistons puts it at 56 HP on the dyno. The pto is a problem like the other posts indicated, and one I chose to avoid. A 450 sounds like the solution unless you want an M and labor with expense to upgrade it.

If you want 50 horses and live PTO and hydralics you will need a Super MTA or 400 that has been upgraded with overbore sleeves to give 281 cubic inches or you will need a 450.

Last stock Super MTA I saw on the dyno had around 44 horses.

Live hydralics can be added to H's and M's without too much work. If you can find an M&W pump you won't need to change the timing cover. Live PTO is also possible, you can put on an M&W hand clutch that will give live PTO, but you won't be able to shift gears without pushing the clutch and stopping everything. Independent PTO like the SMTA, 400, 450 is not possible.

The Super M can be found with the hydraulics and live PTO ,from the factory....you can put "M&W" hydraulics on a H or M....live PTO ,I don't think so ....you would have to install a "M&W" hand clutch, quite a job...I would look for a equipped SUPER M or MTA..... ..
