MY S/C FARMALL BRAKE SEALS LEAK. SO I TOOK THE COVER OFF AND TRIED TO REMOVE THE METAL DISKS BUT THEY WON`T BUDGE! COULD SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME IDEA OF WHAT OR WHY THEY WON`T COME OFF THE SHAFT..THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND YOUR HELP...BOBBY

Bobby, I had the same experience. Wiht long years of use, the teeth in the centers of the friction discs that fit over the spline will wear notches into the spline and deform the metal, effectively locking them in. You don't want to go crazy, but you can usually get them free with some tapping and jiggling while putting some outward pressure on the disc with a flat prybar. Move the prybar around to different spots. What you want to avoid is any kind of blow or leverage that will break the heavier cast discs. Patience will be an important factor. They will come off. HEY! THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE HELP....I GOT THE DISC OFF TODAY. NOW I`M WORKING ON SOLDERING THE OVERFLOW TUBE BACK ON THE RADIATOR..WORK IS GOING KIND OF SLOW ON THE RESTORATION BUT I`VE BEEN KIND OF BUSY. ANYWAY IT`S RAINING TODAY HERE,AND IT`S BEEN FUN WORKING IN THE GARAGE..

it just occurred you might be talking about the plates that set flush in the side of the tranny. You may have to clean up some to find them, but they have little notches just made to fit a large screwdriver blade for prying them out. Only advice on these is the same, don't go at them so hard that you bust something! Brakes are actually one of the easier more satisfying jobs on the SuperC. Take what you learn on the first side, and the second side will be done in a third of the time. Makes a long morning's or a full afternoons's work. Have fun.
