Has anyone used a finish mower (rear mounted 3pt.) with a Farmall 140? How well does it work? I'm considering getting a mower for mine.

And what is a GOOD condition 140 worth?

I use a woods three point on my 140.My tractor has fast hitch so I converted the three point over to one point fast hitch. The fast hitch has some laterial adj.so you get the mower close enough in line with p.t.o. It works great, easy to disengage to use tractor for other things.

Can you detail how you converted the three point hitch to a one point fast hitch? I have thought about this but I was concerned anout the connection to the PTO as it is offset.

Thanks

I have had the same thought for my Super A but have wondered if the offset PTO would be a problem with the 3-point PTO drive units.
Does anyone have experience with using 3-point PTO drive finish mowers with a Super A or 140?

Hey all...

I've got a 140 with a Woods L59 belly mount (59"). Love it, but have also considered adding a pull behind as you've done Dean. How much of a hassle is this? I assume you mount it offset to the belly mount. Do you have problems with drift over?

Pete,

I offset the swisher so that I get about 10 to 12 inches of overlap between the belly mounted mower and the pull behind. I don't have any problem with drift over but you have to plan your turns otherwise you end up with little uncut patches. Not really a problem.
