It has been a really good Farmall day for me. I just got the engine back together on a Super M that my dad had bought new. The tractor had been stuck and an attempt was made to free the engine by using hydraulic pressure applied through the spark plug hole into the cylinder. This method caused a very bent rod. It had been over ten years since the tractor ran so it was a real joy to hear it start and run again. I will finish installing pieces and run it until spring before I paint the tractor which will allow me time to find where all the leaks are and fix them before the paint job. Thanks for all the help from everyone on the forum.

Bob

Hey, Bob, I was just wondering. What year is "Tom's M?" I noticed it has disk brakes, and the only M I know of with disk brakes is one of the last thousand or so made. Is it a early 52? Or could it possibly be a Stage II Super M with live hydraulic aftermarket? I have a early 1953 Stage II SM, which is nearly identical to my grandpa's 46 M except for larger engine and disk brakes. Thanks for the post, Bob. Nice machines you have.

Congratulations, Bob! Makes you feel good, doesn't it? :-)

That rod had a nice little bend in it.
