Could somebody please tell me if the right-hand seat bracket goes inside the flange or outside the flange? If it goes outside (the way mine was) then the fender bolts right up against the seat bracket?
Thanks,
Bill

Thanks, guys. EZ, I tried to post a followup yesterday to your question and comments, but it doesn't appear. Thanks for the nice words; my Dad re-ringed the A a couple of years ago and checked the bottom end bearings. Otherwise, I've replaced a couple of seals and had the brakes re-lined; that's been about it.

It goes outside flange and fender goes up against it, just like EZ said. I have two of them and have owned 5 in my life time. One of them bought new.

bill, I just had a look at my '44A. The seat bracket goes on the outside, the fender bolts right up against it. I don't think the seat front mounts would fit quite right if it was on the inside. I may be wrong though, but that is how mine is. Let's see what others might have to say.
BTW, nice job, reminds me of last year when I was doing mine. Did you do an engine rebuild before paint?
