Have a '49 Super AV in running condition. Block has been patched behind the carb with a plate and screws. Doesn't leak but looks like heck. Brand new 11x36 rears with new tubes, non AV rims and car tires on front. Steering is loose, one tierod arm has been welded to the spindle, clutch needs to be replaced, sheet metal is so-so, grille is rough, no lights with mag.

Should I part her out or attempt to restore it knowing I'll have more in it than it would sell for. No sentimental issues with it.

If you were going to restore, it would be tempting to buy a second Super A and swap the parts until you have a good Super AV and a rough A and sell it for parts. A lot of work, but you would probably not do too bad on the money and get a neat tractor in the deal.

I would restore. There are few Super AV's out there and they will continue to go up in value. Check with a salvage yard about a replacement block if it bothers you. I got one for my H for $200.

Rims should be easy to have a welding shop make with the proper dimensions and a few pictures.

If it was me I'd be trying to restore her, all depends on what you want the finished product to be. SAm in NS

I bought an (a) to restore that was in about the same condition as yours, block and all, I bought it to restore, after complete engine rebuild and replacing all the missing parts, I figure that I will have over 4,000 dollers in it. It can get costly and I know I have invested far more than its worth. Id keep the old AV they seem to be getting rare, You can do like me and just spend a little each month until its done, theres no hurry !
good luck
