Can anyone give me any info on McCormick-Deering Feed Grinders? About all I know about it is it was belt driven from a tractor and looked like it was painted blue and has the words mccormick deering on the side of it. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Bob

According to book I have there were several small feed grinders, most of them produced for IH by others or patents of others.

Thanks for the info! Do you have any idea how rare these are and approximately how much one in unrestored condition would be worth? how much in restored condition? Thanks Bob

Bob: IH built these grinders from 1909 to 1960. There were three called B type, C type and D type. They also marketed another for awhile called Vessot. It would turn out respecable flour. Sales of the Vessot were disappointing. Nothing on numbers. I suspect they are a dime a dozen.

Thanks Hugh, I got youe email. I think I will end up fixing it up and painting it just because it belonged to my grandfather and i just got done this summer with my grandfathers Farmall H and I would kind of like to see the two in action again! Do you by chance know of any place that has the IH Blue paint and might have decals that would go on the feed grinder? Thanks again! Bob

Bob: I directed a guy the other day on decals for a cream separator, He got a favourable hearing from these guys. K & K ANTIQUE TRACTORS phone 317 398 9883 web. www.kkantiquetractors.com I also gave him this name, Restoration Supply Co. Dept.AP, 96Mendon St., Hopedale, MA 01747, phone 508 634 6915. At the time of his e-mail he hadn't contacted these people, as he seemed quite confident about K & K . On the blue paint, I suggest CaseIH. I suspect there are other guys on here with better ideas. Hugh
