I was wondering if you can still get from case IH, the shaft and seal for the governor, the one between the engine block and the governor housing. Also can you get all of the gaskets involved in taking off the governor? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.....Thanks

Yes, absolutely the seals are still available. I recently did complete restoration on my '46 H and found all seals, gaskets and bearings at Williamson County Equipment Co. This is a Case/IH dealership in Taylor, Texas(link is below). The small oil seal for the speed change lever is Case part# 66440 C1 (originally #45667D). Give them a call at (512) 352-6381, Darrell, Walter & Ricky are great guys and will ship parts direct to you. They are very knowledgeable and will help you out.

If you need additional part numbers let me know I have the original parts manual for the Farmall H.

Ben,

I have the same problem with oil leakage on my '44 H. I'm looking to replace the seal you are talking about as well. I replaced all of the gaskets (I made them myself from material you can buy at the auto parts store... cheap and easy). I'm wondering if I should also go ahead and change the spring and bearing while I'm in there. The unit seems to work OK, but is a little slow to respond. Do you (or anyone else) have any thoughts? Also, if you don't mind let me know how it goes when you do the repair. Thanks
