I am looking for a Farmall 400 with a farmhand loader(stronger hyd.) to clean out stalls in our feedlot. But when the county fair starts i want to be able to pull with it but I they wont let me pull with a two point hitch that can move. There is a tractor graveyard about thirty miles away with tractors anywhere from the 40's to the 80's tractor. Would a Farmall M drawbar fit a 400 or 450? It wouldn't be the actual drawbar just the bracket hooked up to the axels. Than we will just hook up to a solid metal plate bolted to it.

you can put the draw bar on but just putting a plate on it to pull from will not work. The old M's had a tongue that went to the belly of it so you are pulling from the center of the tractor. You will probably brake the system you are thinking of doing.

If I had minimum wage for every hour I have ran M pulling from horseshoe drawbar I would think I am rich. The only time I have seen one break is when pin hole was almost worn through weakening horseshoe.

i got an M last summer that had a busted drawbar and bracket. To get me through the summer i got the brackets and drawbar off of a 350. the brackets have 3/4 bolts instead of 7/8 and it held up with no swinging drawbar in 5500 and 6500lb class, so i think that you will be fine. my 2 cents
