.....anybody have any comments/opinions on IH and CIH 3-cylinder diesel engines?.....are they reliable or prone to problems?.....I'm not talking about Japanese engines, but the ones made by IH and Case after the merger....they used them in the IH 484 and the CIH 385....any info would be greatly appreciated.....
Good luck to all!
Bo

the 3&4 cyl. diesels are excellent engines and should go 10,000 hrs with good care. The 3 cyl. is actully 1/2 of the 358 engine used in the 826 tractors. They use the Robert Bousch rotary pumps which are expensive

Big Diesel, do you know how long Case-IH continued to build the German diesels for after the buyout? Did they only keep building the 3- and 4-cylinders, or did they keep building the 310 and 358, too?
