I looked at a Int 424 today that could be purchased for scrap price. It has a diesel engine which is in a proverbial basket, one bad wheel and tire. Almost twelve thousand hours show on the hour meter. No idea when it was running last. Should I drag it home? I figure nearly two thousand would get it running. Was this a good tractor or should I keep looking for one that is running.

A 424 diesel and you are going to know what work has actually been done to it for around 2000. Yes I would. I have a 424 gas that I like but would like to have power steering for the tight spots. Mine has 16.9 x 24 turf tires on rear and 750x16 light truck tires on front--works real well with bushhog.
