You are going to need the head of anyway cause if the engine is stuck the valves are in bad shape also. After the head is off you can see how bad the walls are. Then you can go from there. The rings are probably stuck on one or more pistons also so you need the head off anyway. I have never seen an engine that things were good inside if it is stuck as sooner or later you are going to pull the head and do valve work. So pull the head and do it rite.

The information that I received from this board a couple of months ago , with the same problem as yours, was to place a couple of spoonfuls of penetrating oil in each cylinder, let it set for a few days, then jack one rear wheel off the ground, place transmission in 4 th gear rock the rear wheel back and forth, should unseize the engine, this took about 5 minutes quite simple, this information was all received from the board. cheers, Murray

I would take the plugs out and pour some marvel mystery oil into the cylinder and let stand a few days. Try to turn by hand if no turn. Take a pull on the tractor with trans in hi and pop the clutch once. If this didn't break loose remove the head and pour oil, diesel fuel into the cylinder let set a day or so then tap with a soft piece of wood against piston with hammer on the wood. This usually works.

I went through the exact same process recently. After soaking the cylinders a couple of weeks and it was still stuck, I pulled the head and it was obvious the #4 piston was the culprit, with rust. I tapped it with a block of wood for about 10 minutes and it broke right loose. Runs like a champ, now. I would suggest you have the head reworked if you get that far.

Wolfgang: Ohh I don't think I'd try pulling with a chain from another tractor and then popping the clutch. He is NOT paying for busted parts. You are. Check archives as there have been hundreds of posts about unsticking engines. Pulling has not been the highest rated method. Kroll penetrating fluid, or similar, and rocking by hand while in high gear has been mentioned often. Taking the head off and tapping with wood has been mentioned too after soaking with above mentioned fluids. Take your time to prevent damage(unless your going to replace all pistons and sleeves anyway). Good luck. Mn

You are right about pulling with a a chain I didn't say any thing about a chain. I had a co-worker that was pulling a truck with a loader and the chain he was using broke and came through the back glass hitting him in the head. Stayed in the Hospital for several days and missed almost 2 weeks form work. Could have killed him.
When I said pull I only meant to pull enought to get moving to let off clutch not go running down road should have been more clear.

go ahead and pop it in 4th and see if a rod might want to go out and visit the outside world. If the oils like PB blaster and others don't do it then maybe its time for sleves and pistons. Usually the easy way out, acording to Murphys Law will be a costly Fubar and a big oops or a oh Sh**. Try to have a nice day LOL
